Upcoming: Free Naloxone Training Workshop

The Mount Pleasant Community Policing Centre is hosting a free Naloxone Workshop designed to equip community members with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. This session will be led by our Executive Director, Ida Wang, who brings extensive experience in community safety, harm reduction, and public education.

The workshop will provide a clear and practical overview of what naloxone is, how it works, and when it should be used. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an overdose, how to respond safely and effectively, and how to administer naloxone with confidence. The training also covers important steps such as calling emergency services, providing basic support until help arrives, and understanding aftercare once naloxone has been used.

This event is open to all community members and is suitable for people with no prior experience or training. Whether you are a resident, business owner, volunteer, student, or someone who simply wants to be better prepared, this workshop offers essential, life-saving information that can make a real difference in our neighbourhood. The session is designed to be approachable, respectful, and informative, creating a supportive environment where participants can ask questions and engage openly.

At the end of the workshop, attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of overdose response, increased confidence in their ability to act during an emergency, and access to naloxone resources. By participating, you are helping to build a safer and more informed community where people look out for one another and respond with care and responsibility.
