Road Safety

Our Road Safety teams work to protect pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, ensuring our neighbourhood streets and school zones remain safe for everyone.

What we do: Twice a week, our teams deploy to high-priority areas:

• Busy Intersections:We monitor high-traffic areas to track vehicle speeds and note instances of distracted driving. This data is collected and sent as an official report to ICBC to help improve road safety.

• Elementary School Zones: Operating during peak drop-off and pick-up hours, we monitor vehicle speeds, raise awareness about distracted driving, safely escort parents and students, and distribute reflectors to improve student visibility.

In partnership with ICBC and the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), we also conduct joint safety blitzes, monitor traffic flow, and report unsafe driving habits to help keep our streets secure.
