Eyes on Mount Pleasant: Community Reporting Workshop

Join the Mount Pleasant Community Policing Centre for a hands-on workshop designed to help residents take an active role in keeping our neighbourhood safe, clean, and well-maintained.

This session will walk you through how to properly observe, document, and report common community concerns including graffiti, abandoned items, encampments, street damage, and more. You’ll learn when and where to report issues, and how to do it effectively so they are addressed quickly.

We’ll guide you step-by-step through the main reporting tools used in Vancouver, including:

  • Van311 for city service requests (graffiti, illegal dumping, street issues)

  • BC Hydro for electrical or infrastructure-related concerns

  • The Mount Pleasant BIA reporting tool for local business district issues

This is a practical, interactive session where you’ll gain real skills you can use right away. Whether you’re a resident, business owner, or just someone who cares about the community, this workshop will give you the confidence to take action safely and responsibly.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to identify and assess issues in your neighbourhood

  • What details matter when making a report

  • Which platform to use depending on the situation

  • How to report safely without putting yourself at risk

  • Tips to improve response times and follow-ups
