CPTED

Our clean-up initiatives are designed around the principles of CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design). By keeping our streets, parks, and alleyways clean, vibrant, and well-maintained, we reduce opportunities for crime, increase neighbourhood pride, and make community spaces feel welcoming and safe for everyone.

What we do:

  • Neighbourhood Clean-ups (Monthly): Once or twice a month, our volunteers hit the streets to clean up litter and discarded items around the neighbourhood. These smaller, regular clean-ups are open to everyone, and community members are always welcome to join us.

  • Large Community Clean-ups (Bi-Annually): Twice a year, we host massive community-wide clean-up events, such as our Earth Day Clean-up. These major events consistently bring out 50+ participants. All neighbours, residents, and local businesses are invited to take part. Local businesses can even set up their own booths to showcase their services and hand out goodies to attendees.

How it works: To ensure these large events run smoothly and safely, our trained volunteer leaders map out specific routes in advance. They lead designated groups to their assigned zones, managing equipment and safety protocols while directing the clean-up efforts.
